St. Simon Stock School is a private, co-educational Catholic school for children in pre-kindergarten through 8th grade, conveniently located in the South Fordham section of the Bronx. Since 1928 St. Simon Stock School has cultivated the intellectual and creative talents of students of all faiths, ethnic identities and economic backgrounds while providing them with a firm moral foundation that lasts a lifetime. St. Simon Stock School is a living expression of the teaching mission of the Church. The school is a faith-community made up of students (Pre-K to 8), teachers, para-professional instructional personnel, the school principal, auxiliary staff, parents, and the parish clergy. This community works towards fostering the dignity of the person and responding to the need for justice and peace in our global society. St. Simon Stock School strives to educate the whole person by sharing with parents their responsibility to foster spiritual, physical, intellectual, and emotional growth in their children. Our quality, sound education will enable those who attend our school to acquire the competency needed to function as effective leaders in the next millennium. Through the development of Christian and Catholic principles based on the Gospel message, each child is nurtured with the values needed to be contributing citizens in their future communities. |

| St. Simon Stock is a parish
elementary school under the authority of the parish pastor and
principal. School policy is established by the Superintendent of
Schools Office of the Archdiocese of New York. These policies are
fully supported by the professional staff, ratified by the parish and
implemented by the Administration. Policies pertaining
specifically to St. Simon Stock are published in the School Handbook. As communicators of the Gospel message, and developers of the whole child, St. Simon Stock seeks to mingle spiritual, academic and social communication skills that would effect a more bonded faith community. Great efforts are being made at marketing the good news about St. Simon Stock, building a partnership with our sponsor community and seeking ways of building financial security in our future. |

| St. Simon Stock excels in the caliber of the
student, Christian, and citizen we mold during their years of student
here. Many older alumni visit us the year and pledge their
allegiance to our Gospel message and to all who took care of them in
their educational years in the school. St. Simon Stock is also an "oasis in the desert" as the late John Cardinal O'Connor was known to say in talks to educators everywhere. We are a stabilizing influence in the community and a beacon of hope for this inner city neighborhood. All of us at St. Simon Stock believe in what we do, like what we do and are proud of what we do - educating our students for the new millennium. |
